Mrs. Ella Cassaidy Zane

Mrs. Ella Cassaidy Zane of Farmington, passed away Sunday Dec. 14 at 6:30 a.m., at the Riverview Nursing home after an illness of about a week. She was born March 3, 1864 in Bonaparte, just a few months after her father was killed in action near Sercy(sic), Arkansas during the Civil War. She was a lifetime resident of the Farmington community.

She was married to Michael Cassaidy, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1936. She then married Wilbert Zane on Dec, 7, 1939. He passed away May 2, 1950. A faithful member of the Methodist church, attending services as long as she was able, and was a devoted follower of the Lord to the last. Like Dorcas of the Bible, this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts and many other things for others.

Surviving are two step-sons, Lee Zane, Bonaparte and J. E. Zane, Santa Barbara, Calif.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Herman Brown, of Johannsburg, Calif.; Seven(sic) step-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 2:00 p.m. from the Farmington Methodist church with Rev. M. Ellsworth Walker and Rev. C. C. Swalwell officiating. Burial was in Greenglade cemetery.
