WILBERT ZANE

Wilbert Zane was born April 21, 1865 on a farm north-east of Farmington, where his parents, Levi and Mary Anne Zane, had settled in 1851. Here he resided until 1918 when he retired from active work, making his home in
Farmington since that time.

In 1887, he was united in marriage to Sarah A. Crawford. To them were born five children. Two of them, Alvie W. and Veva Marie, preceded him in death, as did his wife, who passed away May 23, 1925.

On December 7, 1939, he was married to Mrs. Ella Cassaidy, who has been a loyal and loving companion.

He joined the Methodist church in 1887 and has been a faithful member, as well as Sunday School teacher, for the past 63 years, always present at services as long as his health permitted.

Mr. Zane passed away May 2, 1950, at the age of 85 years, 11 days. He is survived by the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Herman Brown of Hollywood, Calif.; two sons, Lee W. Zane of Bonaparte, and J. Edward Zane of Santa Barbara, Calif. He also leaves two grandsons, Lee Zane, Jr. of Manitowoc, Wisc., and Robert Zane of Farmington, and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday, May 6, conducted by Rev. Fay Marriott. Interment at the McDaniel cemetery.
