ADA IRMA VORNKAHL
**Handwritten: daughter of Harmon

Our town and community were grieved and saddened this week when word came of the death of Ada Irman Vornkahl. Her affliction became apparent about three months ago. She was taken to Graham Hospital, Keokuk, Ia., for observation only to discover that her sickness had proceeded too far for medical aid to cure or human strength to overcome.

She was able to return to her pleasant and comfortable home to be with us for only a short time. Death came as a relief from physical suffering Aug. 19, 1953, age, 59 years, 10 months, and 2 days.

Ada was born near Acasto, Clark Co., Mo., October 17, 1893, daughter of William Harmon and Sadie Brewster Vornkahl.

The greater part of her life was lived in the Acasto neighborhood, moving to Farmington with her parents and sister October, 1936, where she resided. Ada was highly esteemed in the community, her friends were numbered by her acquaintances which were many. Her congenial and friendly disposition was evident in her walk of life. She will be sadly and greatly missed by all of us, and especially by her devoted sister, Effie, who tenderly cared for her until the last in their home.

She had never affiliated with any church, but gave evidence and expressed her faith in the Lord during her illness and her readiness to go.

Her parents and her brother Elmer preceded her in death, leaving to mourn her departure two sisters, Mary Von Seggen and Effie Vornkahl, Farmington, a sister-in-law, Bertie Vornkahl, nieces, nephews, and one great-neice and a host of friends.
