BYRON FREDERICK POOLE

Byron Frederick Poole, son of Mattie and Noah Ewalt Poole, was born at York, Nebraska, January 29, 1893, and passed from this life Feb. 26, 1943, at the age of 50 years and 28 days.

He was one of five children and when a small child came to Iowa with his parents, locating on what is known as the Joe Ketcham farm, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage with Grace DeRosear on December 25, 1915. To this union were born four children, Fred Elton, Alfred Lester, Allen Ewalt, and Margaret Bernita.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace, one son, Fred Elton, mother and father, and two brothers William and Dewey.

On August 19, 1936 he was married to Ba Huston, and in August 1938 moved to a farm in Clark county, Missouri, where he lived until his death.

He leaves to mourn his death, his devoted wife and children, Margaret and Allen at home, Lester in the U.S. Navy, now stationed at Bedford, Penn., and his wife, Lois, one sister, Laura Pierce of Memphis, Mo., two brothers, Harry of Memphis, Mo., and Bruce of Stockport, Iowa, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Byron was a faithful husband, father, and brother. He was a real friend and neighbor and will be greatly missed. While he never united with the church, he was a true believer in Christ, his Savior. His was a clean life like the great outdoors he loved so well. His home and family were his first thought and care.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, from the Sharon Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. Myrtle Dawson and the Rev. C.F. McMican. Interment was in the Sharon Cemetery.
