Obituary

Rosena Kathryn Schriever, daughter of Jacob and Kathryn Spohnheimer, was born at Donnellson, Iowa, on May 17, 1872 and passed away at her home in Farmington on June 19, 1955 at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 2 days. Her farther was a Civil War Veteran and settled on a farm near Donnellson. There as the oldest of a family of seven children, she grew to young womanhood. At the age of thirteen, she united with the Evangelical Reformed Church and through her life remained a faithful member. On January 14, 1897, she was united in marriage to August Schriever. Two children were born to this union. The family moved to a farm west of Farmington and have been residents of the Farmington community for forty-eight years.

Mrs. Schriever was preceded in death by her father and mother, four brothers, Albert, Martin, Gustave and Louie, and one sister, Mrs. Fredericka Lowenberg. She leaves to mourn, her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Viola Evans of Bonaparte, a son, Herman of Louisiana, Mo., one brother Edgar Spohnheimer who still lives on the old home place near Donnellson, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a number of nieces and many friends.

She was a good wife and mother, a good neighbor and a good friend. She lived a Christian life, meeting each day with a sunny smile and always doing her best whatever life asked of her. Her bright eyes and cheery manner endeared her to all who knew her.

She has followed the path to a bright new land
Where she'll know no sorrow nor care.
Someday when we go down that path we'll find
Her awaiting her loved ones there.
