MARY LOUISE MUNTZ

Mary Louise, only daughter of Don and Beulah Willits Mitchell, was born in Farmington Township. Van Buren County, Iowa, November 27, 1919, and departed this life at Immanuel Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, on May 14, 1949, at the age of 29 years, 5 months and 17 days.

She received her elementary education at White Oak School and graduated from Bonaparte High School in May, 1938. During her high school days Mary Louise was active in Rainbow, the Normal Training Club and many other school organizations. After graduation she taught for 4 years in the Taylor and Mt. Sterling schools of her home county.

As a young lady she became a member of the Story Chapel Methodist Church and has had an active devoted interest in all religious activities.

On June 1, 1940, Mary Louise and Elwin Muntz were united in marriage at Kahoka, Missouri and during the next 3 years lived at Vall and Corydon, Iowa. While at Corydon, their only child, a daughter, Judith Ann, was born. During the 2 ˝ years of Elwin’s military service, Mary Louise and Judy made their home with her parents, and from his return until the present time the family has resided in Iowa City. During this time she has been an active member of the wives’ club of the Psi Omega dental fraternity.

In addition to her husband, daughter and parents, Mary Louise’s loss is mourned by two brothers, Robert and Ivan, a niece, Linda Kay, and many other relatives.

Her friends cannot be counted in numbers for they increased daily. Those who knew her will always admire the unbelievable courage and determination with which she has borne her illness during the past two years. Mary Louise will be cherished as a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and a steadfast friend.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3:00, from the Bonaparte Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. John S. Ellis. Interment, Thompson Cemetery.
