Sidney C. Keller
Sidney Carl Keller, 72, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12 in Memorial hospital in Keosauqua, after being seriously ill with a liver condition following major surgery several weeks ago.
Mr. Keller was born Nov. 21, 1883 in Clark County, Missouri, the son of Charles and Gertrude Keller.
He was united in marriage with Laura Miller Jan. 21, 1915 in Farmington, where he has made his home the past 43 or 44 years.Sidney was a member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge No, 27 AF&AM in Farmington; Iowa; Lafayette Chapter 61, Royal Arch Masons, Bonaparte, Iowa; and Zarephat Consistory in Davenport, Iowa. He had his own business for years in the Plumbing and Heating field.
Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Keller, one, Charles Edward, died during World War II, in the Army hospital in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Mr. Keller’s parents preceded him in death.
Those surviving are his wife Laura; two daughters, Mary, Mrs. William Roberts of Keosauqua and Martha, Mrs. Albert Ray of Kellog, Idaho; four sons, Kenneth S., Janesville, Wisc., Lawrence W., Rogers, Ark., Robert A. Keosauqua, and Cardney R., at home; 12 grandchildren, 9 boys and 3 girls, and many friends.
Sidney Keller was a kind and thoughtful husband and father and will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
Funeral services were held from the First Methodist Church in Farmington, Iowa, Wednesday, Aug. 15, with the Rev. Richard Eis officiating. Interment was made in Greenglade Cemetery.
