IN MEMORIAM

MRS. AMOS CECIL

Elmeda May Carter was born December 9th, 1870, and departed this life on July 16th, 1919, at her home near Stockport.

She was married to Amos Cecil, on September 11th, 1890, and to them was born six sons, two dying in infancy and Elvin Emmett who died in France, on October 9th, 1918, while in his country's service.

She is survived by her husband and the following sons: Charles Lester, Francis Earl and Stanley Theron. She also leaves an aged father, two brothers, several nephews, nieces and a large circle of friends.

Mrs. Cecil confessed Christ as her Savior a number of years ago and united with the Methodist Church at East Union and lived her religion.

Affectionate and thoughtful as a wife and mother, she met the description of a worthy woman as given by King Lemuel: "She tooketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness; her children rise up and call her blest; her husband also, and he praiseth her."

She was gentle in spirit, unassuming in manner and real in her life. Heaven with her had already begun and that which is commonly called death was to her the open doorway unto the fullness of that which she termed life.

Thus it pleased God to call his servants home. One by one they are all crossing to make bright the land beyond the tomb.

A good woman has fallen. We shall miss her, but our loss is her gain, and Heaven was made richer by her passing from out midst.
