GEORGE W. McKee

George W. McKee, second son of Davis S. and Margaret McKee, was born near Fairfield in 1866, where he departed this life at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 9 days.

He had been in poor health the past few years, but his immediate death was caused by a stroke of apoplexy which claimed him for his Master while he was spading in the garden.

He was united in marriage to Emma J. Huston who preceded him in death in 1893. This union was blessed with one child, Minnie L. Nixon of Stockport.

He was married again in 1895 to Anna Grant. To this union six children were born, a son passing away in infancy. Those surviving are Carl G. of Belle Plaine, Fayette, Fenton, Marguerite and Myrtle, all at home.

Besides a devoted wife and six children he leaves to mourn their loss, a sister, Mrs. Kate Potter of Medford, Oregon, and two half sisters, Mary Hetherington of Perry, Okla., Joey Bennett of Ottumwa, an only aunt, Mrs. Emmaline Walker of Stockport, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Carl McKee, four grandchildren, Will, Telma, Beth and Emma Jane and a host of friends.

His life was spent in Jefferson and Van Buren counties.

We'll find it hard to take the burden where he laid down, but enshrined on memory's tablet his true worth we'll ne'er forget.

We desire to thank the many friends for the love, sympathy and floral offerings during the death of our dear husband and father.

Mrs. McKee and Children.
