MRS. FANNIE JOHNSON
Fannie Henderson Trent Johnson was born in Montrose, Iowa, on April 19, 1871, the daughter of Mary Ellen Henderson and Robert Trent.
She moved with her parents to Farmington when she was seven years old, and lived her entire life on the same farm three miles from Farmington, with the exception of the seven years she taught school in Missouri, and the last four years which she spent in the town of Farmington where she made her home with her oldest son, Willie.
She attended school at Victory and for 14 years was president of the school board of that district.
She graduated from Farmington High School in the class of 1895. She joined the Little Union Baptist Church in Palmyra, Mo., on March 27, 1898, and was baptized April 3, 1898. She was a devout Christian, and for many years was Sunday School Superintendent at the Dry Ridge Sunday School. She joined the Farmington Baptist Church Feb. 7, 1932. She moved her membership to New Boston Baptist Church in 1943, but on moving to Farmington, she continued to attend faithfully the Baptist Church here.
She was married Sept. 6, 1905, to Frank Johnson, and to this union two sons were born, Willie Albert and Trenton Henry. Mr. Johnson passed away in 1914.
Fannie, as she was affectionately known to both old and young, was a very familiar person here. She was respected and loved by all who knew her. She was quiet, loving and a very religious person.
She passed away Tuesday morning at the home of her son Willie, here in Farmington, at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 18 days.
She leaves to mourn her departure her two sons, Willie Albert Johnson, Farmington, Iowa, and Trenton Henry Johnson, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; their wives; two grandsons; one granddaughter; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ida Trent of Des Moines; and a host of friends.
Her parents, husband, one sister, two brothers, one granddaughter and one grandson preceded her in death.
We will miss our loved one but shall bow in submission to God’s will and trust always the God that Fannie trusted.
