HORNBAKER, MATLOCK, MCCONNELL, BURNETT, RICHARD

MRS. C. M. HORNBAKER

Mrs. C. M. Hornbaker, 915 S. Tenth street, Burlington, died at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 in a nursing home at 809 N. Fourth street, Burlington, after a long illness.

A daughter of David and Mary Matlock, she was born about 69 years ago, in the Vernon Prairie district southwest of Bonaparte.

C. M. (Merle) Hornbaker and Tina Matlock were married in Bonaparte by Rev. Alfred Trenerry, the Baptist minister, about 40 years ago, and made their home in Bonaparte when first married.

Her husband and a step-daughter, Mrs. John McConnell of Burlington, survive. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Anna Burnett of Burlington and Mrs. Dollie Richard, who lives in the west; two bothers, Charley Matlock of Keokuk and Steve Matlock of Bonaparte, besides numerous other relatives.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Alfred Trenerry of Bonaparte were held in the Burnett Wallen funeral home, Burlington, Tuesday afternoon, with burial in Burlington.

Those attending the funeral included Jim Holmes, Mrs. Daisy Beard, Mrs. Geo. Lorton, Karl family, Mrs. Amy Ward, all of Bonaparte; Mr. and Mrs. John Hornbaker and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hornbaker of Keosauqua; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Perkins of Farmington and Harry Hornbaker of Maywood, Ill.
