MRS. GUY GREENFIELD
Mrs. Guy Greenfield, 73, of Douds, died at the Ottumwa hospital at 11:55 p.m. Sunday. She had been ill for several days and was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon.
She was the former, June Cheney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Cheney of Bonaparte. She had lived in and near Douds for 42 years. For the past 40 years she had been a member of the Zion Lutheran church near Douds. She was a musician and gave lessons at her home for many years and up until a week before her death.
Surviving are her husband, one son Daniel of Douds; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Crawford of Moberly, Mo., and Mrs. Ruth Trumbo of Douds, and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Truman, who died while serving with the navy(sic) in world war(sic) II.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran church, with the Rev. Hubert Graening of Ottumwa officiating. Burial was in Zion Lutheran cemetery.
