EMMA HARRYMAN

Emma Smith, daughter of John and Mary Jane Smith, was born near Douds, on Feb. 15, 1903 and departed this life June 28, 1942 at the Ottumwa hospital, age 39 years four months and 13 days.

On June 17, 1924, she was united in marriage to Joseph M. Harryman. This happy union was brightened by the birth of a daughter Patricia on Nov. 30, 1931. Mrs. Harryman was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, whose death occurred in September 1941.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Patty, two brothers Kermit Smith of Douds, John Smith of Davenport and three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Robinson of Cantril, Mrs. Donna Carson of Washington, D.C., and Miss Betty Smith of Douds, also her aged grandmother, Mrs. Annie Shafer and many other loving relatives and friends.

Mrs. Harryman spent her entire life in Van Buren county, near Douds. On April 12 1931 she united with the Leando Methodist church and was a faithful member of the church and Sunday school.
