Service Monday For J.D. Hootman

Died Saturday At His Home Near Douds; Is Survived By His Wife and Son.

Funeral services for Jacob D. Hootman, 89, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Zion Lutheran church in charge of the Rev. G.J. Dingman. Music was by Glen Williams, assisted by Glen Williams, assisted at the piano by Miss Janet Hootman. Pallbearers were Lew Hootman, George Mercer, J.D. Hootman, Jr., and Everett Crane. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran cemetery.

He died at 4:30 Saturday afternoon at his home, which he recently had made with his son, Earl, about three miles east of Douds. He had been ill several months. He had spent his entire life in the same community in which he was born.

Surviving is wife and son Earl, two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
