OTIE HEWITT.

DOUDS. - Otie Hewitt, 65, died at his home here at 4 p.m. Sunday following a two-year illness.

He was born near Douds and spent his life in this vicinity. For 20 years he was operator of the Leando switchboard.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Berdotte Grubbs; two sisters, Mrs. Del Smith of Douds and Mrs. Retta Steele of Birmingham, and a grandson.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pedrick funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Robert G. Farr. Burial will be in the Leando cemetery.
