HARLEY R. HEWITT

SELMA. - Harley R. Hewitt, 69, died unexpectedly Thursday at Downers Grove, Ill. He was a native of Van Buren county. He operated a barber shop in Selma in 1917 before the family moved to Downers Grove, where he was in the mercantile business, but recently he had been employed as a barber. His wife, Gara Belle, preceded him in death February 7, 1948, also two sons, Marvin in 1932 and Van in 1935. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Merne Kasper of Downers Grove, Mrs. Opal Lanz and Mrs. Hazel Crosslin of Hinsdale, Ill., and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held today at Downers Grove with burial there.
