ELIZABETH HECKART FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY

Final services for Elizabeth K. Heckart, 79, were held at the Leando church on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. M.D. Wyatt in charge. A quartet composed of Forrest Hanshaw, M.H. Finney, Jay Doud and R.V. Finney gave special music for the service. Mrs. Harold Harryman was pianist.

Interment was made in the Leando cemetery. Pallbearers included John Ritz, Vernon Gardner, W.L. Samuels, Vaughn Nicklin, Asa L. Fellows and Ed Elsehsohn.

Elizabeth Kirkendall, daughter of Elizah B. and Mary Franzee Kirkendall, was born Feb. 11, 1869 at Douds. She was graduated in 1889 from Iowa Weleyan College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Phi. She had always been an active member of the Methodist church.

On May 17, 1898, she was married to Elias Heckart who survives. After living four years at Mutual, Okla., they returned to Douds and later moved to near Selma. Surviving besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. J.E. Ferguson of Owatonna, Minn., a son, Harlan, of Selma, a sister, Mrs. T.N. Carver of Santa Monica, Calif., and five grandchildren.
