MRS. GERTRUDE DEVENY.

Troy.-Mrs. George Brown has returned from Grand Falls, Mont., where she was called because of the death of her sister, Mrs. Gertrude Deveny, 54, who died there March 8 as the result of injuries suffered a few hours earlier in an automobile accident.

Mrs. Deveny was riding in the rear seat of an automobile driven by Francis Moye when it collided with another car. Mrs. Deveny suffered a back injury, bruises, lacerations and shock. Riding with Moye were Miss Madeline Deveny and Mrs. Moye. Funeral services were at 9 o'clock March 12. Mrs. Deveny was formerly Miss Gertrude Knecht of Ottumwa and was born Troy. For several years she was a Davis county rural teacher. She had been living in Montana about two years.
