MRS. ELLA MAY DAVIS

DOUDS - Funeral services for Mrs. Ella May Laird, 82, of Douds were held Monday afternoon, May 8, at two o'clock at the Pedrick funeral home in Douds. The Rev. Glen Lathrop officiated at the services. Larry Pollock sang several hymns with Lizzie Pollock serving as pianist. Interment was made in Hidelbaugh cemetery. Pallbearers were Floyd Haney, C.E. Nicklin, Bruce Blackburn, Harold Morrow, C.E. Blackburn and J.S. Miller.

Ella May Laird was born Jan. 17, 1868. She was a daughter of Herman and Cornelia Laird. On Nov. 5, 1885 she was united in marriage with Elijah Davis. They were the parents of eight children. One son, Harmon, preceded his mother in death at the age of five. Surviving are Chloie Simpson of Wesley, Nina Mustard of Troy, Scott Davis and Roy Davis of Selma, Orville Davis of Ft. Williams, Ontario, Canada and Nora Nicklin of Selma. There are also 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Nicklin. She had been bedfast for the past 11 years.
