Octogenarian Dies At Douds
**Handwritten: Feb. 24 1944

Services Sunday For A.L. Doud, Sr.; Is Survived By 2 Daughters, 1 Son, 6 Grandchildren.

Funeral services for A.L. Doud, Sr., 84, were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds. Services were in charge of the Rev. M.D. Wyatt, former pastor, and the Rev. E.K. Parrott. Music was by Mark Doud, Jay Doud, Forrest Hanshaw and Hovey Hootman. Pallbearers were W.A. Carson, O.W. Sanford, W.J. Samuels, Ross Cramlet, H.S. Morrison and Frank Knecht. Honorary pallbearers were James Loomis, William Orr, John Slutts, Sam Adams, George Miller, Dr. Roscoe Pollock and Bud Kinzie. Interment was in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Mr. Doud died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at his home in Douds. He had spent his life in Douds and was prominent in community affairs. For many years he was cashier of the Iowa Savings Bank in Douds.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Arnold of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Edna Scott of Steamboat Springs, Colo., a son, State Representative A.L. Doud, Jr., of Douds, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Melissa Harwood of Keosauqua.
