Luther William Nason, 54, of 218 North Hancock street, died at the Ottumwa hospital today following a brief illness. He was an employe of the Carr grocery store on Church street and had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 25 years.

He was the son of Granville and Clara Nason and was born in Van Buren county, December 10, 1891. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance church.

Surviving are his wife, Maefra; one daughter, Doris Nason, Ottumwa; one son, Edwin Nason, Ottumwa, and his parents who reside at Selma. Three brothers, Harry Nason and Harold Nason, both of Ottumwa, and Burton Nason of Springfield, Mo., also survive.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Nason.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. V.L. Neigenfind. Burial will be made in Heidelbaugh cemetery, five miles southwest of Selma.

The casket will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel until 9:30 a.m. Monday.
