MRS. FRED FELLOWS RITES AT DOUDS
**Handwritten: 48Final rites for Mrs. Fred Fellows of near Douds were held Sunday, April 11, at the Pedrick funeral home, conducted by the Rev. J.C. Austin. Bearers were Clarence Wiley, Roy Wiley, Emmett Wiley, H.S. Morrison, O.W. Sanford and A.J. Gilbert.
Music was by Larry Pollock with Mrs. Harold Harryman, pianist. Interment was in the Leando cemetery.
Hope Elizabeth Stewart, daughter of William and Lillie Brooks Stewart, was born at Leando, Iowa, on Nov. 25, 1894 and departed this life April 9, 1948 at her home 3 1/2 miles south of Douds, Iowa. Age 53 years, 5 months and 14 days.
She united with the Methodist church at Leando when she was 17 years old and was continuously affiliated with that church until the time of her passing. She was also a member of the Douds Pythian Sisters. She spent her entire life in the vicinity of the place where she was born.
On Dec. 19, 1912, she was united in marriage with Fred Fellows. To this union were born two sons and two daughters, all surviving her except one daughter, Frances.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, and three children. Paul of Le Juene, North Carolina, Mrs. Josephine Miller of Douds and Robert of Chicago and 8 grandchildren, also one brother, Ray of Omaha, and one sister, Mrs. Mafra Hopper of Missoula, Mont. and many other relatives and a host of friends.
