MARY CATHERINE WILEY
Mary Catherine Wiley, daughter of Geoerge and Eliza Ann Miller was born at Leando December 5, 1867 and died at her home in Leando at 7:30 a.m., January 4, 1942, at the home of 74 years and one month.
She was united in marriage to George Wiley April 27, 1894. To this union were born five children, Clarence, Emmett of Douds, Iowa, Mrs. Lowell Harward of Cantril, Iowa, Mrs. Edwin Parks of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Harold at home.
Mrs. Wiley has spent most of her life in Leando. She was a kind and loving mother and wife and will be missed by her family and loved ones. She had been in failing health the last three years, but death was very sudden.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, five children, fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Wiley's funeral was conducted at the Leando Methodist church on Tuesday, January 6, 1942, at 2 p.m. by the pastor, Rev. E.K. Parrott.
The pallbearers were Theodore Gilbert, Chas. Benning, Raymond Finney, Morris Finney, Roscoe Stagers and Gilmore Horn.
The music was furnished by Mrs. Mabel Finney, Mable Daniels, Forrest Hanshaw and Mark Doud, with Mrs. Elizabeth Pollock at the piano.
Burial was in Leando cemetery.
