HENRY SELLER'S FUNERAL HELD AT DOUDS SUNDAY
Funeral services for Henry Sellers, 74, were held at the Pedrick Funeral home in Douds Sunday, July 24, at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Walter Llewellyn conducted the rites.
Special music was by Charles Pearson, Glen Pearson, Oscar Bashman and Rodney Pearson, with Mrs. Nellie Davidson as the pianist.
Interment was in the Zion Lutheran cemetery. Pallbearers were Ellery Davis, Hugh Whitney, Wesley Greene, Marvin Greene, Charles Shaffer, Otto Keck and Curt Pool.
George Henry Otis Sellers, son of George and Alice Greenleaf Sellers, was born in Cherokee county, Kansas, on July 16th, 1875, and passed away at his home in Leando July 22, 1949, at the age of 74 years and six days.
He was married to Miss Chloie Elwell Feb. 26, 1899, at the home of her parents near Adair, Ill. To this union four children were born.
He spent his entire life farming in Illinois and Iowa, coming to Jefferson county in 1911 and later moving to Van Buren county. Because of ill health he moved to Douds three years ago. He was a member of the Leando church.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Pearson of Fairfield; 3 sons, Roland, George and Leroy, all of Douds; one brother, Edgar of Bellflower, Calif.; eighteen grandchildren and one great grandson; and many neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Belle Schwartz and Mrs. Lula Muhphy(sp).
