Services Friday For Emma Plowman

Died Wednesday At Home Of Her Son In Douds; Survived By Husband, Six Children.

Funeral services for Emma E. Hewitt Plowman, 55, were held Friday, November 12 at the Leando church in charge of the Rev. E.K. Parrott. Music was by Mark Doud, Forrest Hanshaw, ??ay Doud and Doyle Stang, accompanied by Mrs. Roscoe Pollock at the piano. Pallbearers were Homer Miller, Harry Carr, Will Hoskin, Tom Sexton, Roscoe Stagers and Frank Parker. Burial was in the Leando cemetery.

Mrs. Plowman died Wednesday at the home of her son, Stanley Plowman in Douds. With the exception of a few years spent in Missouri and Minnesota, her entire life was spent in the Douds community.

Surviving are her husband, Gilmore W. Plowman, two sons, Stanley of Douds and Glenn in the armed services in North Africa, four daughters, Mrs. Lou Vern Gaslin of Mendota, Ill., Mrs. Edna Carson, Mrs. Opal Munson and Eloise Plowman of Rock Island, Ill., five grandsons, two brothers, Ottie Hewitt of Douds, Clarence Hewitt of Homewood, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Retta Steele and Mrs. Ruth Smith of Douds.
