BIRMINGHAM - James Samuel Weller, retired farmer and stock buyer, died Feb. 10 in Van Buren County hospital, Keosauqua.
Weller was the son of Fred and Laura McClain Weller, and was born at Auburn, Ill., on May 2, 1878. He was married to Sarah Belle Sullivan in Clark county, Missouri, on March 8, 1903. He had been a resident of the Birmingham and Stockport communities for the last 30 years.
Surviving are his wife and two sons, and daughters: Charles Weller, Birmingham; Harold Weller, Sheridan, Wyo.; Mrs. Ethel Shipley, Eureka, Calif., and Mrs. Thelma Schmidt, of Stockport.
Also surviving are two brothers and a sister: Edgar Weller, Sullivan, Ill.; Fred Weller, Mt. Sterling, and Vergia Weller, Jacksonville, Ill.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at the Burch-Catcott funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday. Officiating will be Dr. H.C. Irvine, pastor of the Presbyterian church, who will be assisted by the Rev. Glen Lochhead, pastor of the Methodist church.
Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery.
