Mrs. Mary Pender Dies At Milton

Surviving Are 2 Sons, 14 Grandchildren; Burial at Miller's Chapel Cemetery

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Retta Pender of Milton were held at the Burnett funeral home in Milton at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon and at Miller's Chapel at 2:30 o'clock and were in charge of the Rev. A.M. Hadley of Milton. Burial was at Miller's Chapel cemetery.

Mrs. Pender was born near Mt. Zion 70 years ago the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Barker. She was married to Fra?? Pender in 1897 and to this union two sons were born. Death came peacefully at her home in Milton on April 1.

Surviving are her sons Phil of Milton and Hollis of Industry, Ill., a step-daughter, Clara Reddington of Rock Island, Ill., 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Tom Barker of Douds, Allen Barker of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Glenn Barker of Bloomfield, one sister Mrs. Lewis Pender of Bonaparte; three half-sisters, Mrs. Rollo Hall of Norfolk, Neb., Mrs. Clarence Pender of Bonaparte and Mrs. Georgia Isom of Evansville, Okla., and two half-brothers, Will of Keokuk and Emmett of ???, Kans.
