Charles A. Gaskell
Charles A. Gaskell, 59, 1100 S. Fifth St., died at 8:55 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 1993, at his home.
The service was conducted at 1:30 today First Christian Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril. Memorials have been established to his church and the Jefferson County Hospice. Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua was in charge of arrangements.
Gaskell was born May 13, 1934, in Burlington, the son of Charles E. and Margaret Tieman Gaskell. He married Marilee Lunsford on March 5, 1960, at the Christian Church in Cantril. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959, worked at Iowa Malleable Iron Co. for 34 years, had been secretary of Local 359 of the Glass, Moulders, Pottery and Plastics Union, AFL, CIO. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Matthew of Florence, Mo.; two daughters, Mary Green of Denver, Colo., Lisa Gaskell of Cedar Falls; a grandson; a brother, Robert of Keosauqua; three sisters, Barbara Haynes of Torrington, Wyo., June McIntosh of New Orleans, and Betty Bumgart of Owatonna, Minn. His parents and a brother, James, preceded him in death.
