DEATH OF FORMER JUSTICE OF PEACE

Isaac Roberts of north of Bonaparte, an old resident aged 85 years, died Jan. 29. He was born in North Carolina. He left seven sons and daughters as follows: Enny Roberts of Sequim, Wash.; Elmer and Amasa of Bentonsport, Mrs. J.H. Bennett, Miss Martha Roberts and Isaac, Jr., and Andy of Bonaparte. Funeral services were held Friday at 1 o'clock at the Presbyterian church at Bentonsport.

Mr. Roberts came with his parents to Van Buren county in 1845, being one of the pioneers of the county. He was married in 1853(or 1863) to Mrs. Ann Fitzgerald, who was the mother of his children and who died Nov. 27, 1906(?). Mr. Roberts had been the justice of the peace of Harrisburg township 12 years and was esteemed and respected by all who knew him.
