THORTEN McDANIEL

Thornten McDaniel, son of Samuel and Elmira McDaniel, was born January 1, 1862, in Virginia and departed this life May 26, 1949, at his home in Keosauqua at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 25 days.

He was united in marriage to Cassie Flick, August 23, 1882. Their life together was spent in farming and raising their family on a farm in Northern Missouri. To this union were born seven children, six of whom survive him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cassie, January 20, 1908, and by one son, John Henry, on Nov. 9, 1901.

Those left to mourn his passing are: Luther of Keosauqua; Roy of Ottumwa; Ernest of Memphis, Mo.; Lola Eaves of Ottumwa; Lettie of Keosauqua; Evert of Oshkosh, Wis.; a brother, James McDaniel of Pollock, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Moreland of Pollock, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
