Castor Melvin Teal

Castor Melvin Teal, son of George and Rebeca Stewart Teal, was born on a farm near Utica, Iowa, March 22, 1872, and departed this life suddenly at his farm home near Kilbourne, Iowa, Dec. 30, 1958 at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 8 days.

In May, 1903 he was united in marriage to Jessie May Bartlett of Ottumwa, Iowa, who preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 1934.

On Sept. 16, 1938 he was united in marriage at Shenandoah, Iowa to Mrs. Edith Gray.

Mr. Teal's entire life was spent farming in Van Buren County, with the exception of some five years in and around Copperstown, Griggs County, North Dakota.

Survivors are his wife Edna, one son, Leroy M., at home; one step-son, Harold R. Gray of Burlington Juct., Mo.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Thad Sherod of Keosauqua and Mrs. Dale Billingsley of Maryville, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John Timothy Teal, and two sisters, Mrs. Addie Hootman and Mrs. Edna Edwards.
