Rachel Manning

Rachel Manning, 81, formerly of Van Buren County, died at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 1992, at Mapleleaf Healthcare Center in Mount Pleasant.

The funeral and committal services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Sara Malone officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham. Visitation is open at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to American Heart Association.

Miss Manning was born May 23, 1910, near Douds, the daughter of Collin and Blanche Brown Manning. A homemaker, she had lived all of her life in Van Buren County.

Surviving are four half-sisters, Mildred Manary of Fairfield, Joan Wingate, Juanita Jennings, both of Ottumwa, Dorothy Parr of Mesa, Ariz.; two half-brothers, Richard Manning of Fairfield and Dean Manning of Tucson, Ariz. A brother, Stanley and two half-brothers, Kenneth and Elmer, preceded her in death.
