Glenn B. Reneker

Glenn B. Reneker, 93, 1104 S. Second St., died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 1992, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be open after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Fairfield Public Library.

Reneker was born May 1, 1898, in the Oak Grove community near Douds, the son of Joshua and Susan Viola Sampson Reneker. He married Edith M. Syfert on June 20, 1923,in Ottumwa. She died March 21, 1980. He was a farmer in the Winchester community southeast of Birmingham until 1971 when he moved to the Second Street address.

Surviving are two sons, Darrell H. of Akron, Ohio, W. Daniel of Fairfield; two daughters, Darlene Manchester of Bella Vista, Ark., Mary Lee Hoage of Huntsville, Texas; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Paul and Joshua, both of Douds. Two sisters, Daisy and Esther Strait and a brother, Raymond, preceded him in death.
