Tuesday morning ?????? ????? Keosauqua citizens were shocked to hear that Mayor C.I. Manning had expired at his residence in that place, of blood poison, the result of an abcess on his face. Many in town did not know he had been sick. He was born in Keosauqua 44 years ago this coming Christmas day. He leaves a wife, and one child, mother, three brothers and one sister. The funeral was held from the residence at 2:30 in the afternoon, Thursday Nov. 16. All business houses in town were closed during the funeral hour. An obituary will be published next week--Keosauqua Republican.
