Mrs. Sarah C. Wolf

Mrs. Sarah Catherine Wolf, daughter of Alexander and Jane Stevenson Matheson, was born near Knoxville, Iowa on May 10, 1870. At the age of two she moved with her parents to Van Buren county, Iowa, where she has lived ever since.

She was a member of the Keosauqua Methodist church.

On October 27, 1897 she was united in marriage to Oliver Thurston Wolf, who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1924. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, one grand-daughter, three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by three daughters, Veda Wolf of Burlington, Mrs. Vera Cox and Mrs. Florence Burchett of Keosauqua; one granddaughter, Evelyn Winona Cox of Keosauqua, and one step-granddaughter, Mrs. Orpha Matheson, also of Keosauqua, one brother Grant Matheson of Mt. Sterling, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Keosauqua Methodist church on Tuesday, May 8th, by the Rev. Burton C. Bastuscheck. Burial was at the Maple Lawn cemetery at Cantril, Iowa.
