EMMA F. HUNTER

Emma Fowler Hunter was born in Nobels county, Ohio, April 6, 1850, and passed away at her home in Leando June 23, 1930, aged 80 years, 2 months and 17 days.

She came to Iowa when a little over one year of age and grew to womanhood in Van Buren county. She was united in marriage to John Hunter in 1878, no children were born to them. Mr. Hunter passed away 15 years ago. Deceased was of a family of ten children, all of whom preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hunter was a member of the M.E. church in Leando. She is survived by three step-grandchildren, Vincent H. Baird of Guthrie Center, Mrs. Nellie Baird Keyler of Udell, Miss Gladys Baird of Douds; also four step-great-grandchildren, Mary, Ruth, John and Robert Baird, a number of nephews and nieces and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 25, from the M.E. church in charge of her pastor, Rev. C.H. Chader. The singers were Leslie Swires, Mrs. H.E. Millen, Mr. and Mrs. O.A. Finney, Miss Freeda Swartz at the piano. The pall bearers were Theodore Gilbert, George Wiley, W.A. Kerr, Chas. Benning, Wilson Wiley, Clarence Wiley. Interment was made in Leando cemetery.

Those attending from abroad were Mr. and Mrs. Kaylor of Udell, Mr. and Mrs. Baird and family from Guthrie Center, Mr. and Mrs. G.J. Wilson of Milton, Jake, Estelle and Will Roby of Milton.
