M.L. SADLER
**Handwritten: July 29, 1937

M.L. Sadler, 87, a pioneer resident and retired farmer of Douds vicinity, passed away Friday, July 23, at 2:30 p.m. He had been ill for several months at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nellie Trout at Douds.

He is survived by two daughters, Ethel of Red Oak, and Nellie of Douds; and five sons, Charles G. of Ottumwa, James B. of Red Oak, J.L. of Mt. Zion, Martin of Omaha, Neb., and Herbert of Alaska; also a sister, Mrs. Mary Ogilbee of Portland, Ore.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Pedrick funeral home in Douds in charge of Rev. J.C. Austin. Interment was in the Zion Lutheran cemetery south of Douds.
