MINNIE E ETHERIDGE
Minnie Eliza Etheridge was born near Troy, Davis Co, Iowa, Dec. 6, 1871, and died in Keosauqua, Iowa, Jan. 17, 1914. Her health had not been good for a number of years, but her last illness came on suddenly at midnight; in one hour she became unconscious and five hours later her spirit left the frail body.
With the exception of two years in Oregon and one winter in California, her life was spent in Davis and Van Buren counties, Iowa. Her mother was a long time cripple with rheumatism, and died about four years ago; so that she and her sister, Jennie were the home-keepers for years, to the great comfort of their parents, and especially so to the father afther(sp) the mother's death.
Minnie was converted at the age of 17, and united with the Presbyterian church. She lived a beautiful Christian life, and greatly endeared herself to her relatives and friends. She is survived by her father, one brother, two sisters, one half brother and two half sisters.
Funeral services were conducted at the Etheridge home, Jan. 19, and the burial took place in the Valentine cemetery, near Chequest creek, six miles from Keosauqua.
