Former Selma Resident Is Survived by Parents, Brother And Sister; Rites At Eldon
**Handwritten: May 1938Funeral services for Mary Catherine Nicholson, a former Selma resident, who died at Mt. Pleasant Friday morning, were conducted by the Rev. Jay N. Waterman of Selma at the funeral home in Eldon Sunday afternoon. Burial was at the Iowaville cemetery north of Selma, the bearers being Dale Gardner, Charles Gardner, Emery Hughes, J.A. Jones and Walter Barker of Selma andJ.L. Hodson Eldon.
Miss Nicholson was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Nicholson and was born in 1907 on a farm east of Selma. At the age of 3 she was hurt in an accident and became afflicted with paralysis. She was treated at Iowa City for two years and them lived with her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Priest in Bloomfield and attended the Bloomfield school.
She is survived by her parents, one brother, Robert Nicholson of Mt. Pleasant, and one sister, Mrs. Russell Ferrell of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by a twin sister, who died in infancy.
