BATAVIA -- Mrs. Faye McDOWELL, 87, died at 6:10 a.m. today at Ottumwa following a short illness.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Batavia with the Rev. Kermit Black and the Rev. Robert Cumings officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery.
The casket will be taken from the Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia to the church at 11 a.m. Monday.
Mrs. Faye McDOWELL, was born June 8, 1887, in Jefferson County, the daughter of George and Ida FELL PEEBLER, and spent her entire life in the Batavia Community. She was a member of the Batavia Christian Church and ODO Club.
She was married to Charles HUGHELL who preceded her in death. Later she married Ralph McDOWELL who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. William STAEBLER, Ottumwa; three grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn and Wayne PEEBLER, both of Batavia; and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer COPELAND and Mrs. Harold PENCE, both of Fairfield.
