Buena Gail Hendricks

Buena Gail Hendricks, 86, of 2199 S. 32nd St. died Sunday morning, Sept. 24, 2000, at Sunny Brook Assisted Living in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Family visitation will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home. The body will be cremated after visitation.

Mrs. Hendricks was born June 13, 1914, in Van Buren County, the daughter of T.D. and Ella Brown Morris. She married Wayne E. Hendricks July 22, 1933. He died in August 1996.

Mrs. Hendricks attended Stockport High School.

She worked in the garden, raised flowers, played cards and made crafts.

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Fairfield.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte McCormick of Grand Junction, Col.; one son, D.K. Hendricks of Stockport; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Verna Dodds of Fairfield and Maxine Shagsta of Keosauqua.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Norman W. Hendricks; five brothers, Harold, Herchel, Max, Ralph and Chester Morris; two sisters, Esther and Elisabeth; and one granddaughter.
