END HIS LIFE WHEN ARREST SEEMS NEAR

Keosauqua, Oct. 31 Harry Milan, 24 years old of near Selma, shot and killed himself later yesterday when sheriff Davidson of this city and two deputies were about to close in on him. The young man recently escaped from the Mount Pleasant hospital, where he had been committed last June and returned to his farm home. Yesterday, when the officers appeared at the home of his parents, he slipped through a side door and wondered off through a field. When the officers overtook him he turned one of the two guns he was carrying upon himself and fired. Death was instantanious(sp).
