Kenneth R. Kirchner

Kenneth R. Kirchner, 75, of Keosauqua died at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at the Good Samaritan Rehabilitation Center in Keosauqua.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Rimmer officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Good Samaritan Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Kirchner was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Donnellson, the son of Roland and Anna C. Hotop Kirchner. He married Doris Irene Ponte Dec. 19, 1943, in the Sharon community. She died Dec. 9, 1982.

He had lived most of his life in Van Buren and Lee counties and was a farmer. He owned and operated the K & E service station in Birmingham and was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Robbins of Casper, Wyo.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Kirchner of Keokuk; and one daughter-in-law, Lola Kirchner of Stockport.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Edward Kirchner.
