Ruth Brown Colby, 78, of Mission, Texas, died of a heart Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, in her home.
A Funeral Mass was held Saturday in Mission. The final interment will be in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, PO Box 1439, Mission, Texas 78572.
Mrs. Colby was born March 24, 1922, on a farm near Stockport. She was a daughter and stepdaughter of Ira L. and Donna Vancine Brown.
She lived many years of her life in Fairfield and Burlington and graduated from high school in Fort Madison. She also accompanied her husband, Craig, to many foreign countries while he was with the U.S. Air Force. When they retired, they moved to Mission and made it their permanent home.
Survivors include two daughter, Karla Robinson of Chicago, Ill., and Anita Bywater of Daleville, Ark.; one brother, Dwight "Bud" Brown of Clive; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
