Daryl 'Doc' Lester Anderson

Daryl "Doc" Lester Anderson, 79, of Stockport died at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Spencer Cemetery in Stockport.

Family visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Hospital Foundation or to Stockport First Responders.

Mr. Anderson was born Oct. 11, 1920, in Cedar Township in Van Buren County, the son of Clarke L. and Katie F. Watson Anderson. He married Josephine L. Pearson-Hearn June 18, 1967, in Fairfield. She died Jan. 9, 1998.

He lived most of his life in the Stockport community and was a plumber for Hadley Plumbing and was employeed at Sasseen Hardware in Richland. He also worked with his brother, "Burky" Anderson at Anderson Service Station in Stockport.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Stockport American Legion, as well as a member of a life-time member of the Walton Club in Fairfield.

Survivors include four stepsons, Maynard Hearn of rural Selma, Ralph Hearn of Richland, Tim Hearn of Birmingham and Carl Hearn of rural Batavia; one step-daughter, Deb. Rotenburger of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Meda Yarnell of Stockport.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Milo Anderson and Wendall Laverne "Burky" Anderson; and an infant son.
