Patricia "Pat" Bailey Cook, 66, of Nickerson, Kan., former area residents died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, April 5, 1996, at Columbia Regional Medical Hospital in Overland Park, Kan.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home, with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in her name.
Mrs. Cook was born May 17, 1929, in Birmingham, the daughter of Charles D. and Mary Hendricks Bailey. She graduated from Salem High School in 1946 and attended Parson College for two years. On March 20, 1949, she married Wally Cook at the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church in Bonaparte. She was a rural school teacher in Jefferson and Van Buren counties. She later assisted her husband in the Blue Sky Air Spray Co. in Nickerson. She was baptized and active in Wood River Presbyterian Church in Wood River, Neb. She has lived in Nickerson for 15 years and before that in Wood River.
Surviving are her husband of Nickerson; three sons, Kevin of Mississippi, Kenneth of Nickerson, Brian of Wood River; six grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Rupe of Keokuk and Margaret Heminger of Wood River. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Grace Glassford, Susie Cecconi, Ellen Brier, Mary Burns; and three brothers, Charles, Robert and Dwight Bailey.
