Earl Harold Brier

Earl Harold Brier, 82, of Kahoka, Mo., former area resident, died at 10:50 p.m. Monday, June 24, 1991, at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Iris Kerr officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to First Responders of Kahoka, Mo., and the American Diabetes Association.

Brier was born March 1, 1909, in Fairfield, the son of Albert and Mary Lynch Newell Brier. He married Wilma Ellene Bailey on June 7, 1932, in Kahoka. She died April 25, 1967. He lived most of his life in the Birmingham community until 1967, when he moved to Kahoka to live with Helen, Craig, Lynn and Daniel Bailey. He was a self-employed printer, projectionist and photographer and operated the Jubilee Restaurant in Bonaparte and the Standard Station and Café in Birmingham. He was a former Birmingham mayor and a member of the B`nai Shalom Temple in Quincy, Ill.

Surviving are a brother, Glenn W. of Fort Collins, Colo., and a sister, Rose Waltz of Orient. A brother, Leslie, and a sister, Vera, preceded him in death.
