Mrs. De Vault Dies At 77

LIBERTYVILLE - Mrs. Ralph Da Vault, 77, former Libertyville resident, died Sunday at her home south of Douds.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Libertyville United Methodist Church with the Rev. G. Basil Tadlock officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds. Arrangements are in charge of the Pedrick Funeral Home at Douds.

Mrs. Devault was the former Mary J. Oliver. She was born July 14, 1896 near Selma, the daughter of Harrison and Sarah Hutton Oliver. She was married to Ralph R. DeVault April 20, 1917.

They farmed in Van Buren and Jefferson Counties before making their home in Libertyville. In August they moved to a mobile home to be near their daughter, Mrs. Stuart Thomas, south of Douds.

Surviving are her husband and three daughters: Mrs. Thomas; Mrs. Lester Stackhouse, Anamosa; and Helen DeVault, Cedar Rapids. Other survivors are five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Abraham Oliver, Libertyville; and four sisters: Mrs. George Palmer, Nevada, Mo.; Mrs. Mabel Brown, Mrs. Nora Rodgers and Mrs. Wilbur Thomas, all of Eldon. She was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, one brother and three sisters.

She was a member of the Libertyville United Methodist Church.
