Owen P. Williams

Owen P. Williams, 73, 1626 East Main street, died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday in the Ottumwa hospital.

He was born at Mt. Zion, Van Buren county, December 14, 1885, the son of Lewis and Mary Williams. He was a veteran of World war I.

Surviving are his wife Susie; two sons, James and Virgil Williams, both of Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Warner of Ft. Madison and Miss Sylvia Williams of Fairfield; a brother, Henry of Farmington; and a stepson, Keith Conners, of Ottumwa. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maudie Hobbs Williams, three brothers, three sisters and six grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church north of Keosauqua. The Rev. Norman Borders of Ottumwa will be assisted by the Rev. D.E. Freeman of Birmingham. Burial (**handwritten: IN FORBES CEMETERY NEAR KEOSAUQUA.)
