Obituary of Mary M. Williams

Mary M. Burnhart was born May 17, 1851, and departed this life January 30, 1926, aged 74 years, 8 months and 13 days, at her home in Mt. Zion, Iowa. She was married to Lewis H. Williams Augest(sp) 17, 1867. To this union nine children were born, six sons and three daughters, Cephas and Laura of Mesa, Arizona; Henry and Owen of Fairfield, Iowa; Carrie of Ottumwa, and Arch, Anna and George of Mt. Zion, Iowa; the youngest, Aaron, dying in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death about three years.

She was converted in early womanhood and united with the United Brethren church of which she was a faithful member until called to join those gone before. She was a kind and affectionate mother and was always ready to help her neighbors in need sickness. She leaves to mourn their loss five sons, three daughters, a number of grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church, Friday afternoon, February 2, in charge of Rev. Ervine of Birmingham. Interment in the Forbes cemetery.
